Merrick House announced on Friday 1/7/2011 that they plan on closing their Fulton Road offices and transitioning services to other sites by April 1st, 2011. Funding cuts over the past four years were cited as the reason for the closing of the Clark Fulton site. Such cuts reportedly created funding gaps which had to be covered by the organization's reserve funds. Their decision reflects concerns for ensuring programs at their main office remain solvent.

Sunpu Opto – Unlikely to see vote tonight & Crain’s articleSubmitted by briancummins on Mon, 05/24/2010 - 17:56.
It is unlikely there will be a vote this evening on the 10-year no-bid Sunpu Opto LED lighting contract. It appears the votes for and against the Sunpu Opto agreement are holding. Today we believe that we are at 9-Yea and 9-Nay and the 19th vote - Councilman Matt Zone (who was recorded as a Yea on a roll call vote last Monday) - is out of town and is not expected to be present for this evening's meeting. Cleveland Ward 14 zoning info - 2810-2914 Seymour Ave.Submitted by briancummins on Thu, 04/22/2010 - 00:06.
To clarify and provide info on this case -- the owners of the property that is being re-zoned for resident-industry are Andrew and his son Kevin Dever. Kevin has been running a small business/cement contractor company from the site for 4 to 5 years. Although the property previously was used for a repair shop it apparently was never zoned properly. Kevin uses the property to store his trucks and equipment and wants to invest in the property to make an addition to the existing commercial structure.
