AVID BICYCLISTS GREETED WITH CRIES OF: "Happy Slow Roll, Welcome to Jefferson Park"

On the evening of Monday, August 28, 2023 -- members of Slow Roll Cleveland -- a 10-year old group of avid bicyclists were welcomed to Jefferson Park located between Lorain Avenue and Cooley Avenue -- north/south and between West 130th and 133rd Streets -- east/west.

The group, with their sturdy bicycles and some with blazing yellow shirts, started assembling at 6:00 pm on a sunny and very pleasant summer's evening at the north-east corner of the park.

The bicyclists were greeted with cries of "Happy Slow Roll, Welcome to Jefferson Park" -- I had one colored sign in my hand and a plain one around my neck.

Members of the community -- including residents, school students, Ward 16 Councilman Brian Kazy, staff from Jefferson-Puritas Development Corporation -- with or without their bicycles were present to support the riders.

Many posed for photographs as the composite image shows.

At 7:OO pm -- the bicyclists started to roll out for a one to two hour ride along streets in the neighborhood before returning to the park.

Additional photographs and videos can be seen on the Slow Roll Cleveland Facebook site.

The attached schedule shows the neighborhoods visited and upcoming rolls.

The community enjoyed the Slow Roll riders visiting our park and riding through our streets.

Looking forward to future visits!

Yay!! Mr. Puri provides coverage of Slow Roll from his Jefferson neighborhood in Cleveland.  Sorry I couldn't make it!  I am hoping to do the Opportunity Corridor ride.
