Gather 'Round puts the gardens to bed until spring
Submitted by dwebb on November 7, 2009 - 5:16pm.
If you want to spend a couple of hours in the warm sun of November on Sunday, we are putting down compost, doing clean up and putting the gardens to bed until the days grow longer and nature wakes us up to plant again.
Calling All Hands to Gather 'Round Farm
Sunday, November 8, 10:00 - 3:00
3919 Lorain Avenue
We need all hands on deck to finish off several projects at Gather 'Round, including spreading compost and topsoil on the beds for winter, insulating the chicken coop and doing some other general clean-up.
All help is greatly appreciated.

a passing of the chicken named Seagull
Gather 'Round lost Seagull a few days ago. This chicken was 2 years old. This is the first death in the flock. A necropsy was performed, and showed a egg duct rupture. This happens on occasion in chickens and death occurs quickly. A private funeral service has been scheduled.

a good gal!
I'm sure she had a happy and full life on her urban farm.
Please give Meghan our wishes and also let her know we have a brood of day olds coming tomorrow. Speckled Sussex, Brahmas, Golden Laced, and Crossed Rock. If she would like a few young ones please let me know. We would be happy to donate a few and we are happy to raise them until they are ready.
DBra is a good brood
with great chicks!
Sorry we missed you yesterday - we DO need to get together...!
Are you ready for a new computer and OS?
ICEarth is ready for you.

YES!
I'm so frustrated with this one - I don't have administrative privileges (its a "loaner") so I can't install programs.
We missed you! It was quite a hoop-de-la and 4 other dads were there, so you wouldn't have been the only rooster...
Are you willing to be an ICEarth model citizen
I recall you having a Mac... are you one of those die-hard Macfanatics?!?!
I imagine you gotta use Photoshop, at great cost...
I can set you up with a computer that will run any Windows or Mac aps if you have them and need them but the computer will be configured primarity to run Linux and to open your world up to opensource, and I will want you to try that world out and report on it... we'll set your ICEarth up to your exact specifications... just like mine.
If you'll make a commitment totrying open source, I'll set you up with a free computer that should make your family very happy. We just need to determine what you need to do with IT each day.
Just hold on... the PC Medic is on his way.

Let's do it....
lets make a plan.
I am a Mac girl, but I'm also easily swayed. I work with a PC. Its ok - they learned a lot from Mac.....
Ain't no "PC" either...
Laptop or desktop...
What do you need to do with it today... I'm thinking, make fine art.
Everything else is a piece of cake... it'll be ready this week.... you'll love Gimp (start checking it out)
