If you answered yes to any of the above questions you can't afford to miss Gray's Auctioneers upcoming auction. This is Gray's third auction, and like the previous auctions there will be great deals to be had!

Gray's Auctioneers is a very cool new business in Cleveland. Though there are other auction houses in Cleveland, Gray's Auctioneers has a more ambitious goal than just selling used art and furniture. Gray's Auctioneers wants to change the way Clevelanders shop and change their perception of auctions. With the quality and value of items offered at auction Clevelanders don't need to waste their money paying retail at "big box" discount stores. If your idea an auction is a snobby crowd bidding on Old Master paintings and gilded Louis XIV chairs you really need to check out the cool merchandise, hip crowd and sleek and green facility at Gray's Auctioneers.

Here is how the auction works: Visit Gray's Auctioneers website -- the catalog is online now. There are four ways you can bid and you can still bid even if you have other plans for the afternoon of August 19th. You can bid live, in person, the day of the sale at Gray's convenient westside location, you can leave an absentee bid, bid by telephone the day of the auction or bid live online though eBay Live Auctions. Preview week begins Wednesday August 15th and continues through Saturday August 18th. Preview hours are 11 am - 8 pm Wednesday through Friday and 11 am - 6 pm Saturday. If you can, be sure to come in and "try before you buy." Potential bidders are encouraged to thouroughly inspect items they are interested in, but if you can't come to the preview Gray's helpful staff will be happy to discuss condition and other factors over the telephone or by email. When considering what to bid on remember auction prices are wholesale (or less) and bidding usually starts at half the low estimate. Estimates are just that, estimates, just because something has a low estimate of $40 does n't mean you will pay a minimun of $40. If there is no reserve and no other few bidders you may get it for $10. Just a tip -- smart buyers bid in person to take advantage of unexpected deals just like that.

Just a quick comment Evelyn - this seems like such a great business idea and entity you work with and I had to divulge that the Auction House was just featured in a spotlight special I caught today on local cable Channel 23.  Linda Gray offered an interesting perspective as to her reasons for leaving other houses to pursue the entrepreneurial auctioneers dream.  Fascinating.

Breuer chairs at Gray's this fall

$800- $1,200 estimate. Part of the Fall Preview at Gray's.

By the way, I grew up with a pair of the Chinese bamboo chairs pictured in your post. The image brought back wonderful memories. Thanks.
