As the American pass time of entertaining ourselves in "cute" and "muscle" gas-burning automobiles comes up against global warming, new corporate tricks are in store.

The parking lot at the Metroparks Zoo was filling up to capacity as I rode my bike over the Brighton-Brooklyn Bridge today.  I was intrigued to note that some of the pedestrian crossing signal changers were gone--notably the street level boxes that allowed pedestrians to cross at Denison, ALDI's and Archwood.*  I looked up and saw the sign advertising the new program at the zoo.  The sponsor is TCP.

29 STORY BREUER TOWER + 2 CITY BLOCKS FOR SALE IN CLEVELAND, OHIO

Submitted by MillerBuster Report on Sun, 03/23/2008 - 18:27.

Our County Commissioners see themselves not as County administrative managers, but rather as economic development officers.

But they have no economic development training, experience, or credentials - and no public mandate.

They haven't even advertized the Ameritrust Tower anywhere but 3 times in the Plain Dirty Dealer.

CUYAHOGA COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AND STAFF - THE NEO MEDCON TEAM

CUYAHOGA COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AND STAFF - THE NEO MEDCON TEAM

Here are the individuals who negotiated the MEDCON deal in secret for us.  They are the team that represented all of us here on Realneo and everyone else all across Cuyahoga County.

THIS IS OUR TEAM!

What do their physiognomies suggest?

We never were able to see the other team, Mr. Chris Kennedy's team, because the game was played in secret.

I wonder what the physiognomies of Mr. Kennedy and his team would have suggested to us?

CHRIS KENNEDY FACILITATES TOTAL COLLAPSE OF CLEVELAND AND CUYAHOGA COUNTY

Submitted by Jeff Buster on Fri, 03/21/2008 - 12:25.

Of all the possible investments that are needed here in Northeast Ohio’s Cuyahoga County and in Cleveland,  the County Commissioners have chosen – in secret meetings and without the vote of the public – to spend over $900,000,000.00 (even more for a possible 60 year contract) in a scheme whose only acknowledged public benefit is amorphous “trickle down”.

DESPERATE CITY

DESPERATION CITY
We have a deal!

The public today was given, as one observer at the meeting says, an “information free” description of the deal between Cuyahoga County and Merchandise Mart Properties Inc. (MMPI).

The AMP Contract is The Wrong Deal for Cleveland

Submitted by Kevin Cronin on Sun, 02/24/2008 - 20:07.

Cleveland City Council should rescind its involvement in AMP-Ohio's proposed coal-fired utility in southern Ohio. A fifty year commitment to coal is the wrong direction, for Cleveland Public Power (CPP), its customers and the environment. Instead, CPP should develop a comprehensive plan for energy need and energy sources, that includes efforts to reduce demand through conservation, insulation, wind, solar and other alternative sources.

CIGARETTES FUNDING YOUR GOVERNMENT = “MALBRAINO”

Submitted by Jeff Buster on Mon, 02/18/2008 - 21:20.

When your government gets “sin” tax money from cigarettes (and gambling), and uses these taxes for their pay checks, there will never be a real incentive to improve the public health and  welfare.

If your politicians decrease smoking – it will threaten their income stream.

FROZEN PIPES BREAKING ALL OVER NORTH EAST OHIO

Submitted by Jeff Buster on Thu, 02/07/2008 - 16:05.
When you don't have the money to keep the heat on, and it gets cold, the pipes freeze.

And break.

Then when it warms up like it did over the past two days, the pipes thaw out.

And water floods everything.

And when the building is filled up, the water pours out under the doors and into the street - just like it is doing at Sweet Daddy's.

TOWN CRIER RINGS IN CUYAHOGA COUNTY BICENTENIAL - BUT NOT ON AGENDA

Submitted by Jeff Buster on Wed, 01/16/2008 - 16:46.

The January 14, 2008 Cuyahoga County Commissioner's meeting started sounding much like a New England Town Meeting.

Coming down the hall towards the fourth floor Commissioner’s public meeting room, the Town Crier's sharply ringing hand bell competed with his yells of  Hear Yea! Hear Yea!

What would Jane do?

Submitted by lmcshane on Sun, 01/06/2008 - 23:39.

See this face.  Is it hard to believe that this woman took on the establishment in New York and forced planners to consider the human element in the design of cities?

Any agency in Cleveland contemplating radical change to the streetscape should ask themselves.  What would Jane think of your idea?

URBAN BRANDING - TRUTH OR LIES?

Submitted by Jeff Buster on Sun, 01/06/2008 - 14:33.

Carl Pope told  his audience at Levin College that today's branding strategies no longer involve an image (like the Coke logo/bottle or the Mercedes three point star) - branding today is just a phrase.
