This vehicle most often is parked across from 2417 Professor Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio, and creates a number of concerns due to the fact that Mr. Whalen continues to park this very large kitchen on wheels too close to the intersection on a residential street. Professor is also an RTA Bus route and with Mr. Whalen holding a valet zone right on the corner as well, the turn is tight at best. \par As a direct result of this truck being parked too close to the Professor and Jefferson Intersection, it creates an extremely dangerous situation for school children crossing by completely blocking the view of on-coming traffic. When Mr. Whalen finds it necessary to park the truck on the opposite side of Jefferson facing West Bound, it impedes the flow of traffic due to the truck size, street width, other parked vehicles and on-coming traffic through the four-way intersection, as well as putting motorists at risk of an accident by blocking the street. \par What is also clearly evident in these photos is that there are two large propane tanks tethered to the back of this rig. Whether by accident or by calculation and design, a rear end collision could and most likely would cause fatalities and injuries of catastrophic proportions not only pedestrians, but other motorists in the area as well as patrons and employees of surrounding establishments. \par These concerns have been discussed among residents at the Old South Side Community Coalition,at several of the Traffic meetings, with several 2nd District Uniformed Officers in attendance, which were held at Post 58 on Professor Avenue, over the past several months. It was also suggested that Mr. Whalen be invited to attend the November 10, 2009, meeting in order to discuss making other arrangements for parking this commercially licensed automobile. He did not attend. \par This owner/operator also tends to ignore the street stripping and no parking signs. It is our concern that business owners in this community all live by a separate set of standards - 'Above the Law." \par At this time, we are looking for some type of assistance in rectifying this hazardous and potentially explosive situation by helping Mr. Whalen see the error of hos ways.
