Automobile Age" with Dr. Gijs Mom,
Foundation for the History of Technology Eindhoven Technical University, The Netherlands. Wednesday, November 10,
2:00 p.m., Case, 206 Clark Hall Baker Nord Center for the Humanities
Co-Sponsored by the History Department, The Baker Nord Center for the
Humanities, and The Case School of Engineering. With Support from the Office of
Research and Technology Management. Dr. Mom is program coordinator for transport
history in the Foundation for the History of Technology at the Technical
University of Eindhoven, The Netherlands. He heads the Mobility History group in
the international project to write the history of technology in the formation of
20th Century Europe, funded by the EU. A trained engineer, he holds a
doctorate in the history of technology and is the author and translator of more
than a dozen books on automotive technology and its history. His book on the
electric motor vehicle in Europe and the United States was published this year
by the Johns Hopkins University Press. For additional information, contact
