My head on your shoulder - friends enjoy the afternoon

I have posted a series of images over the last few days here on Realneo.  The images are from the row house front porches around the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. 

The community around Hopkins is tough - the Hopkins Protective Services folks advised me not to walk there - and definitely at night it is a no-go.

But in the afternoon sunlight - shining into the door way above - the kids are alert and beautiful in their camaraderie – albeit over an electronic device.   

What goes awry between this age and the late teens?   Is it related to the environment? TV?

I will describe the security environment around Johns Hopkins in following reports, and describe how the security focus is very different from the security philosophy around the Cleveland Clinic.
