NEO Knows7GEN May Show in NEO, but most exciting developments are now in CanadaSubmitted by Norm Roulet on Mon, 08/14/2006 - 10:04.
Lisa Wuohela in front of Material Matters, the premier gallery of Canadian glass art in the world.
The August 14, 2006 REALNEO header (included below) has great meaning, as it introduces a new initiative of 7GEN, LLC, the organization formed by Phillip Williams, Evelyn Kiefer and myself following the attempted theft of REALinks, LLC, property by my former partner, Peter Holmes. This header is of a great NEO art collection, of my parents, Doctors Ann and Norman Roulet, which Phillip, Evelyn and I are documenting on-line as a first service of May Show for the NEO community... in the future, my parents and other NEO art collectors and art dealers and artists may show the world the art they create, sell, collect and exhibit here in Northeast Ohio. The May Show portal being developed by 7GEN, LLC, will be the only interface in NEO to so well document art and make it available to the public, far eclipsing capabilities of even our beloved Cleveland Museum of Art. But that is not the most exciting development for 7GEN I have to share with NEO today, as we are basing future operations at the location shown above, on Spadina Avenue in Toronto, Canada. Read a brief introduction of what, how and why 7GEN will operate in Canada below.
Welcome to the home of Material Matters, and now 7GEN Canada, at 215 Spadina Avenue, Toronto, Canada
On moving and moving onSubmitted by Norm Roulet on Thu, 08/03/2006 - 10:29.
It is summertime and hot, and Cleveland feels it. As REALNEO has been feeling too hot for comfort, as well, it is time for a cooling down period this August. Over the next few months, the team supporting REALNEO is creating an organization for moving forward with our social network, and our lives, so we'll all be posting as we may... please feel free to post as well.
Visualizing the optimal East Cleveland Community for seven generationsSubmitted by Norm Roulet on Tue, 08/01/2006 - 03:52.
When picturing the 7GEN Community of East Cleveland, anchored at the Star Center, picture a green, safe, dense, technologically innovative, NEO-urban, walkable, healthy, prosperous, active, intergenerational lifelong learning village - a hub and spoke community redevelopment that forms a vibrant village that integrates East Cleveland, University Circle, Glenville and Cleveland Heights. Elder volunteers will help care for young childrenSubmitted by Norm Roulet on Sat, 07/29/2006 - 18:00.
In exploring models of intergenerational living and learning excellence, I searched the excellent Knowledgeplex: the Affordable Living and Community Development Resource for Professionals, and came up with some valuable models elsewhere we may embrace planning the Star Complex Community. One that is a necessity is Intergenerational care for young children, before reaching school age. Read about what is being done in Fort Wayne, Indiana below. Walk and Roll Cleveland Festival 2006... See map: Google Maps Continuing saga of Peter Holmes and Jones Day against real NEOSubmitted by Norm Roulet on Fri, 07/21/2006 - 12:01.
NEW PHONE NUMBER FOR NORM ROULET AT REALNEO IS 1-216-212-1540 Please be advised that, because of the ongoing psychotic behavior of my former partner Peter Holmes, enabled by the unprofessional behavior of his law firm Jones Day, it has not been possible to maintain the previous REALinks, LLC, cell phone service for Sudhir Raghupathy and myself, which it appears Peter Holmes has had in his personal name. Only Peter Holmes may transfer Sudhir's and my numbers, after he pays $332.11 owed to Cingular on his account. For the time being, my number at 216-534-1732 and Sudhor's number at 1-216-534-8628 are not in service. Peter Holmes also has not paid the staff what he agreed to provide them as of June 9, 2006, almost two months ago, and Peter Holmes has not proceeded in good faith to make arrangements for the transition of financial and legal documents necessary for continuity of operations without him. This disruption of phone service for Sudhir Raghupathy is especially unfortunate for NEO, as Sudhir has been supporting the Voices and Choices initiative for the betterment of Northeast Ohio, funded by the Fund For Our Economic Future, and so Peter's latest act of aggession does harm to the entire region and all the foundations of Northeast Ohio. Suggestions for navigating REALNEO contentSubmitted by Norm Roulet on Tue, 07/18/2006 - 23:58.
As real NEO is a huge place, with years of content or every sort on a broad range of subjects from 100s of sources, I thought I'd share some of my experiences navigating this community. First off, remember you can simply "Search" the site for any keyword... go to SEARCH here. If I'm browsing rather than searching, the first thing I check out is the center column of recent posts to see what's new - always surprising. Then, I watch the blocks... in the right margin top are comments - those are always fascinating, and I like to interact with the other members here. Then we have today's popular content, and below that is especially revealing... "Last Viewed". REALNEO transition and transformation have begunSubmitted by Norm Roulet on Tue, 07/18/2006 - 04:08.
It is time for major transformation and transition for REALNEO, and I invite you to help make that happen. REALNEO is a free open source software (FOSS) social computing environment developed by a collaboration of members, and they own their information, and maintain a copyright in all their postings on this site. At this time, there are 100s of members and 1,000s of postings, and 1,0000s of comments, representing significant intellectual property of lasting value on the Internet and to this community, in every context. I launched REALNEO in October, 2004, and many people have been instrumental in developing value here. It has always been the understanding in this community that REALNEO would reside in the public domain and operate as or within a non-profit entity. At this time the ownership of the tradename REALNEO must be transferred to the public, and it is well past time for REALNEO.US to move to a sustainable technical and social platform. I am open to all partners interested to lead future development of REALNEO, and there are many reasons this will be an exciting process. 7GEN: Planning for the next 7 generationsSubmitted by Norm Roulet on Mon, 07/17/2006 - 14:48.
Seven-generation sustainability is the tenet that all decisions should be made with consideration for the effect they will have on the next seven generations to follow us. Development of this concept is attributed to a precept of the Great Law of the Haudenosaunee (Six Nations Iroquois Confederacy), which requires that chiefs consider the impact of their decisions on the seventh generation, although it has been adopted by modern groups. This book on REALNEO explores seven generation planning for NEO, in complete respect for all generations before us and seven generations ahead.

Star complex has unique historic character to be preservedSubmitted by Norm Roulet on Mon, 07/17/2006 - 05:42.
The most prominent architectural element of the Star Complex is the glazed terra cotta facade of the original bakery building, with some lovely decorative elements including a repeating star motif, that is also integrated in surprising ways throughout the main building of the complex (including star brick detailing on square smoke stack and even stars on the metal steps). The most striking detailing is around the front doors of this building, built on the front property line facing Lakeview Road.
email to Jones Day seeking Non-profit status for REALNEO, not pursuedSubmitted by Norm Roulet on Sun, 07/16/2006 - 03:35.
This was sent by Peter Holmes to Jones Day on November 15, 2005, showing it was the intent for REALNEO to be establsihed as a non-profit. I have not seen and documents indicating this was ever pursued in any formal way. ( categories: )
Jones Day filed REALinks, LLC, March 7, 2005 - Peter Holmes had them file REALNEO to himself February 22, 2005Submitted by Norm Roulet on Sun, 07/16/2006 - 01:12.
Now that I must fully investigate and document what Peter Holmes has done with since I first invented the underlying intellectual property of REALinks, LLC, and REALNEO, in December of 2003, on a hosted social network technology called Tribe.net, and that property is still active and accessible at and launched it in its present name and form, in October 2004. The first significant legal document related to this property filed by Peter Holmes was to put my intellectual property solely in his name, registered at his home address, which he had Jones Day attorney Robert P. Ducatman file for on February 22, 2005. (the actual registration date is one year later, February 21, 2006). Peter Holmes registers REALNEO in his name, at his home addressSubmitted by Norm Roulet on Sat, 07/15/2006 - 16:50.
On February 21, 2006, Peter Holmes fraudulently received a trademark for my intellectual property REALNEO in his name as an individual, at his home address - see entry below and go here to search yourself. The following day, February 22, 2006, Peter Holmes participated with REALinks, LLC, chief technologist Rob Hawkins in formation of a new company called 315 Caxton, LLC, to compete against REALinks, LLC, functionally diverting the intellectual property of REALNEO and the business opportunity of REALinks, LLC, to a new enterprise and new partners, clearly with intent to bankrupt REALinks, LLC, and harm all staff and stakeholders. Rob Hawkins formed 315 Caxton, LLC, with Peter's long-standing friends Rick Decosky, the Chief Finanical Officer, who personally signed the articles of Incorporation for 315 Caxton, LLC, and February 22, 2006, with William Tuttle designated on the 315 Caxton, LLC, website as CEO, Rob Hawkins designated as COO, and with "Blair Whidden... the penultimate networker, able to bring in further outside expertise when it is identified", whatever that means. Peter has admitted he provided funds to William Tuttle, and Peter funded 315 Caxton, LLC, staff to establish this operation in competition with REALinks, LLC. funding from Peter Holmes, to divert all assets and opportunities from REALinks, LLC, to a new company formed on February 22, 2006 and registered with the Secretary of State of Ohio on February 27, 2006, as 315 Caxton, LLC.
Real NEO new economy began with tribes: the origins of REALNEO.USSubmitted by Norm Roulet on Sat, 07/15/2006 - 14:52.
The origins of REALNEO.US live at http://clevelandcause.tribe.net/ where I first organized this revolution, while I was based in Northern California and fighting to help the real NEO economy from afar. Read the manifesto that was the CAUSE for REALNEO.US below... the very first copy sent to my friend and co-conspirator with REALNEO.US, Louis Carl Edwards, via Tribe.net on December 21, 2003 at 4:19 AM, West Coast time: ( categories:

Steve Cagan Tulane and Post-Katrina Louisiana show "New Wave" of regionalism for the worldSubmitted by Norm Roulet on Wed, 07/12/2006 - 10:20.
While the old Tulane University nick-name, "Green Wave", does not bring to mind a good impression for the hurricane-ravaged region of New Orleans, Louisiana (NOLA), the term they now brandish moving forward is perfect - "New Wave" - and new wave the institution has become, and all forces their leaders can muster are now directed at rebuilding every aspect of their community, spanning several states of the Gulf South and addressing every imaginable physical and social challenge. I receive daily updates from Tulane on their progress and am usually so impressed I feel the need to share insight from there, up here in North East Ohio (NEO), as we attempt a less demanding but as important restructuring of NEO from post-industrial toxic failure to a healthy "New Economy". The first positive outcomes of this sharing has been Case University trustees tapping of the leader of Tulane, President Cowen, and other global university leaders to assist with the rebuilding of Case, which recently lost its leadership in a faculty-led revolution proving no-confidence. There are many other opportunities for success in NEO by implementing processes and models from NOLA, and I'll share one below we may implement immediately for significant change in a very short term. Art of the Day: Derek HessSubmitted by Norm Roulet on Tue, 07/11/2006 - 12:03.
No recognition of the arts as important to the world, much less Cleveland, may overlook Derek Hess, who first was widely known for powerful, angst-filled figurative music posters promoting shows he was then booking at the old Euclid Tavern, which became a fine art business for Derek, which allowed him to grow his global impact to a level few artists in Cleveland have ever achieved, all while staying in and investing in Cleveland, organizing the Strhess Tour, and Strhess Clothing, and making Gallery 1300 happen and happening (opening there this Friday, July 14th). Read more about Derek below, visit the links, and if you are smart buy some of his work while you still may.
Voices and Choices speaks from Micro and Macro Economic PerspectivesSubmitted by Norm Roulet on Mon, 07/10/2006 - 12:30.
As an economist, I've always been fascinated by the wealth of value our foundations provide this region, including funding arts and culture, supporting innovation in education, catalyzing the economy and leading government transformation, and most remarkably forming The Fund For Our Economic Future and funding global change leaders America Speaks to lead the Voices and Choices collaboration now poised to revolutionize our regional insight and economic development. As an open source economic developer for the region, I've had significant opportunity to work on many projects funded by local foundations that are truly transformational, including Voices and Choices, so I feel I must speak up in complete support for this initiative of America Speaks.

The more I read about the environment and Ohio the more alarmed I become. It is not just that we are a toxic place, which we are, but that we have been a world-leader making the world toxic and continue in that leadership position today. Fpr examples, we are now the third most polluting state in America, promote very dirty coal as the future of energy, do not as a state take alternative energy seriously, and have significant issues with lead poisoning, including a long, disturbing history of causing that problem for all the world. You probably already know a major defendant in litigation over lead poisoning in America is Cleveland's own Sherwin Williams, and the top litigators for the lead and paint industry against the world are Cleveland, Ohio's Jones Day, and that we have some of the highest lead poisoning rates in the country, but would you have imagined Dayton was the world center of making lead additives for gasoline, which caused the worst worldwide distribution of toxin ever (which was the fault of General Motors), that Kettering Laboratory on the University of Cincinnati Medical campus was named for the GM research director personally to blame, Charles F. Kettering, director of research at General Motors, and a young assistant professor of pathology at the University of Cincinnati, Robert Kehoe, corrupted the scientific understanding of lead from 1923 into the 1960s, as director of Kettering and agent of the lead industry. Fortunately, times have changed in Cincinnati as the world expert on the dangers of lead is now Dr. Bruce Lanphear, The Sloan Professor of Children's Environmental Health and the Director of the Cincinnati Children's Environmental Health Center at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center and the University of Cincinnati. Consider the highlights below from his recent presentation at the Cleveland City Club about lead poisoning, and then read the "Special Note on the Evolution...", as we may not move on to better tomorrows, as a society, without first understanding from where we came, and how we became who and what we are, being toxic and fooled today.
Wow - this is my kind of Plain Dealer, as they "allow our minds to progress"Submitted by Norm Roulet on Sat, 07/08/2006 - 09:33.
I have many good friends who work at the Plain Dealer, I've been published there, including a "Quiet Crisis" feature on bridging the digital divide, I considered their now deceased Washington Bureau editor Tom Brazaitis the most enlightened man I've ever know of NEO, and I respect Editor Doug Clifton very much. I do not agree with everything they do and am critical when I feel that fits, but I am much more often impressed with their work than disappointed, and a feature in Forum today, July 8, 2006, provided more value to the people of Northeast Ohio than any printed words I've read in NEO, ever. As it is from the LA Times, it is not published on cleveland.com, so you will need to go and buy a paper, and turn to page B9, or read on below...
