Carolyn
Lukensmeyer and David Abbott at The City Club of
Cleveland
CLEVELAND, OH—Dr. Carolyn J Lukensmeyer, president of
AmericaSpeaks, and David Abbott, executive director of The George Gund
Foundation, will speak about Voices & Choices at noon on Friday, December 2,
2005, at The City Club of
Cleveland.
AmericaSpeaks, which is conducting
Voices & Choices, engages citizens in the public decisions that impact their
lives through dialogue about the best course of action on a given public
issue.
Voices & Choices is funded by the Fund for Our Economic Future, a
collaboration of nearly 70 philanthropic organizations that includes the Gund
Foundation.
Voices
& Choices will involve thousands of people across the region in setting a
course for the future that strives to produce more jobs and create better
economic opportunities for families and businesses. It will educate even more
people about the realities facing the regional economy. Through a series of town
meetings and public forums, people will come together to decide what to do to
revitalize the economy.
Prior
to founding AmericaSpeaks, Lukensmeyer served as consultant to the White House
chief of staff (1993-94), the deputy project director for management of the
National Performance Review for Vice President Al Gore’s reinventing government
task force, and chief of staff to Governor Richard F. Celeste of
Ohio.
Lukensmeyer earned a Ph.D. from
Case Western
Reserve
University and completed postgraduate training
at the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland.
Tickets for this City Club Friday
Forum are $15 for members and $25 for non-members. Lunch is included.
