NELSON CINTRON JR Supports Residents' Wishes & Rights with ODOT Barrier WallsSubmitted by Nelson Cintron Jr on Tue, 08/04/2009 - 12:44.
I would like to take the time to give you my opinion on the noise barrier walls in Tremont and the West 25th & Denison Ave. areas. It is pretty clear to me in reading the blogs that residents that I have worked with in the past in Tremont- do not want to see walls installed in that neighborhood.
I have had many conversations with residents in the area of West 25th to Denison, while I have been listening to their concerns regarding the lack of representation they have received over the last four years.

So many citizens have not got a clue about what's going on in politics. They don't want to know. They don't pay attention. They don't feel inspired to participate because they see so much corruption of the leadership on the news. The folks who were poised to leave, mostly have left. The few brave, loyal, and tenacious citizens who've stuck around for the duration have watched their quality of life in this community be abused, neglected, and violated by public officials through gerrymandering, redirection of public funding, and neglect of our people's needs.

ATTENTION REAL NEO: ESPRIT DE CORPS! 1) Everyone has absolutely awesome input! 2) I think that we have all found our voices here...and better than that...we found people who know, expect, want and are willing to work to overcome the history of our Ward's gerrymandering, CDBG funding issues, and the total neglect we have experienced under Joe Santiago.
DID THE PD DAMAGE THE COUNTY REFORM IT BACKS?Submitted by Roldo on Sun, 08/02/2009 - 16:28.
The Plain Dealer did an excellent job of displaying and explaining the divisions of the County Reform ballot proposal the newspaper supports. But I’m wondering if “division” isn’t the operating word in its presentation.

Ward 14: The Political WallSubmitted by ANGELnWard14 on Sun, 08/02/2009 - 15:26.
Over coffee this morning, a young man told me that "he was making a political statement by NOT VOTING!" That's sad that folks feel so disempowered that they have withdrawn their votes and have conceded to the powers that be...without a fight!!! I will be painting over the wall this week... Anyone with paint donations may contact me directly!!! Thanks for sharing your political awareness with others so that our voters may have all the information available to them to make powerful decisions!

Dear Ward 14 Residents... I invite you to get proactive in our community and to find positive ways to unite, to turn negatives into positives, and to collaborate ideas towards reality... It's time for us to take back our neighborhoods and community. We need to show our solidarity in fighting crime, rebuilding our community, and finding new ways to use our diversity as a complimentary means towards progress & powerful changes! We need to empower each other, believing in the possibilities of teamwork, commitment, and building a sense of community.

WARD 14: Visit www.REALNEO.us Mural Space...Submitted by ANGELnWard14 on Tue, 07/28/2009 - 22:57.
There is about another 15 x 50 to make a sign/mural or whatever on the wall.... Pending that the local councilman doesn't intimidate us to clean it up, which I expect. I am certain that he'll find a way to get someone to make a threatening call to the owner about this...like last time. I am receptive to ideas for the open space after the election. For now... I am too short to reach the top without a 40 foot ladder! Anyone interested may contact me direct! Thanks!

I accidently put .com vs .us after the website. But, in the interim...this was one of the few photos taken...Sorry guys-it was unintentional.

Rick Nagin: Unity can build strong communitySubmitted by talbano on Tue, 07/28/2009 - 17:53.
Dear Friends, We need to unite the new Ward 14 and build a strong community. I am proud that we are the most diverse ward in Cleveland and with your help I hope to draw on the strengths and experiences of people from every culture. We are an overwhelmingly working class community and with the help of our unions I intend to draw on the skills, commitment and solidarity of working people.

I am very happy that friend and local artist Carol Anderson will help our neighborhood understand Mandalas and the art of PEACE. The theme of this summer's reading club at the Cleveland Public Library is BE CREATIVE. So much to learn about PEACE, Love and understanding...
