This is the annual Archwood Street Fair of renown.* We've been having it for so many years now I have to ask somebody else when it all started--I think it was in 1980-something. Originally, we tried to sell a lot of rehab and restoration items as well as antiques, and that is still the basic purpose. It now also functions as a way for all of us to clean house, so it's taken on aspects of the huge neighborhood garage sale as well. Some of us who don't live on Archwood actually haul our stuff in the night before. The inventory is usually pretty good.

individuals are invited to prepare and give testimony (up to
3 minutes) on community needs and to propose ways in
which federal tax dollars should or should not be spent.

 The Drug Interventions Programme (DIP) is the key criminal justice agency involved in engaging substance misusing offenders in drug treatment. It does this through a variety of methods, some coercive, such as the Tough Choices program, and some by more traditional means. Its key partners include police, the probation service, prisons, courts and other criminal justice agencies, as well as the National Treatment Agency and the Department of Health Over four years, there has been over £500 million spent on DIP.

In today's tough economy, who doesn't want a good deal?  Cleveland  features a variety of interesting taverns, but one of my favorites is The Tavern Company - this little gem lies tucked away near the Cedar-Lee intersection  (2260 Lee Rd) in the Heights. 

Did the Plain Dealer actually think that Cuyahoga County Commissioners would really insist MMPI pay property taxes?

This book revisits a very difficult time to have to remember in recent history, but the telling is especially important now. The author will speak at Cleveland Public Library, this Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
