WOIO TV 19 has the search warrants on Sheriff Gerald McFaul on its website. McFaul resigned yesterday as FBI agents raided his offices.

“I’m shocked! Shocked to find gambling going on in here,” wrote Brent Larkin this morning. Not literally but you get the idea.

People, get your handkerchiefs out.

What a interesting parallel to the story in today's PD about the Federal Charges against a Cleveland Building and Housing Inspector. Lets recall the long list of electrical violations at Frank Giglio's house. Then I ask you to review the attached PDF and let you come to your own conclusions.

Small Edit I am going to add a picture file taken at the grand opening of La Copa Nightclub on Clark. I think you will see some faces you may know.

#2 a Email regarding La Copa.

SHALL WE KISS directed by Emmanuel Mouret

HERB AND DOROTHY directed by Megumi Sasaki

SCHOOL PLAY directed by Eddie Rosenstein

The decline in sales tax receipts in March for Cuyahoga County was the highest in two decades, indicating troubles in retail sales here.

How far away can the end be?

How come there isn’t more coverage of the interview Fareed Zakaria did with Elliot Spitzer on Friday?

I was surprised to see a letter to the editor printed and on-line in the Sunday, March 22, 2009, Cleveland Plain Dealer - "A flag of peace is found out of order at the St. Patrick's Day parade", by Lou Pumphrey. It starts: "Being half-Irish (on me mudder's side), off work on St. Patrick's Day and knowing the day would be sunny and warm, I vaguely considered donning my 41-year-old U.S. Army dress uniform and joining the St. Paddy's Day parade downtown, carrying my flag." But there was no accompanying picture of Lou or the Flag of Peace.

In the print edition, there was a file photo of a parade, but it was hardly relevant.

Coloring my world. I am thinking about the recommendation of neighbor Anthony Green to find the jazz in Cleveland.  He steers me to Jazz28, which, lo and behold, can be found on Cleveland's west side.

I am going to make a bike trek there soon, and in the meantime, the Cleveland Jazz Project motivates me to clean my house on a blue Sunday.

It is obvious, by any definition, the process of redistricting the City Council wards of Cleveland is gerrymandering. The question is what to do about it. As stated in the title of this posting, "In gerrymandered election districts, the voters don't choose their politicians - the politicians choose their voters!" If that doesn't sufficiently define for you what Cleveland City Council President Sweeney has done, then how about the following...

I can't help but think what the world would be like today if all the people listening had paid attention to David Bowie's prophetic song, Five Years, back in 1972... had really believed it... taken it to heart... changed their lives like we only had five years left to save the world. What a beautiful world this could be.

What if David Bowie was right, and we only had five years, as of 1972... "that's all we got", and now we are just living out the end. That is how it seems to me. Could we be beyond the point of no return? Was Bowie right, back then?

Someone alerted me to a WCPN show yesterday where Chris Evans of the Plain Dealer described County Commissioner Tim Hagan as aptly as anyone could.

Ohio’s jobs picture looks more than dismal. It’s pathetic.

The secrecy of the dealings between Squire, Sanders & Dempsey lawyer Fred Nance and MMPI suggests we won’t know how bad a deal the County Commissioners have made until it’s much too late.
