"THE GRAND CANYON OF THE SOUTH"Submitted by jerleen1 on Wed, 08/19/2009 - 21:34.
Photo taken from the Breaks Interstate Park overlooking the Virginia and Kentucky State Line. "The name "Breaks" was derived from the break in Pine Mt. created by the Russell Fork of the Big Sandy River as it carved a 1000 ft deep gorge on it's way to join the Ohio River. A work of nature often called "The Grand Canyon of the South."
