We owe many thanks to everyone who put forth so much effort enforcing the law in dealing with the hacksawer and his whack job.

As you may know from other posts, a long time neighbor had his home demolished by the city, under questionable circumstances - possibly developer greed and foul play. They are now trying to acquire what is left of his property through tax foreclosure.

This is the base section of a chimney - I caught it going east on I90 in Pennsylvania.  This section weights 46,000lbs and is about 22 feet in diameter.  

Wind turbine towers are fabricated at about  13 feet in diameter so they can be shipped on the interstate and clear the bridges which are about 13'6". 

But this chimney section demonstrates that there is another way to build wind turbine towers with much larger diameters (albeit shorter sections). 

The image above shows a tire plug installed right at the edge of the radial tread - just on the edge of the sidewall of a radial tire.

This is not a good place to plug a tire.

Thousands of RTA riders will have to find another way to get to their destination if the agency eliminates 12 percent of its bus routes.

 We are approaching the first anniversary of the demolition of Frank Giglio's house on W. 14th. I read through the posts here on realneo, and continue to have more questions than answers. A common theme is that of outrage of the situation and the desire to help somehow. How can we help Frank? To the best of my knowledge, I have never met Frank, but many of you have. For a couple of years,  Tremont West Development Corp.,  Executive Director Chris Garland has refused the request of intersted parties to allow anyone to view only the names of the membership list, boasting a 900 plus active enrollment. At the Nov. 11, 2009 special meeting, they did not make quorum and rumor has it that they are now planning on purging this membership list prior to the Annual meeting in January to reduce the required percentage number for making quorum in hopes of sidestepping, yet, another embarassment.
