09/15/2013 - 09:33 09/17/2013 - 09:33 Etc/GMT-4 The end is in sight for funding of Cleveland’s school construction and renovation program. In the 12 years since voters authorized issuance of $335 million in bonds for the program, the School District has replaced or renewed 34 schools, and six more are under way. Prospects for funding at most three more schools are questionable. After those are completed, at least 18 more school projects remain in the District’s currently effective Master Plan, and other schools not in the Plan will continue to need repairs. It’s time to start talking about how much more money the District will need to finish its construction and renovation program. The Bond Accountability Commission will do so at its public meeting on Tuesday, September 17, in the new Paul L. Dunbar elementary school. Please join the discussion: What: Public meeting of Bond Accountability Commission 2 Inc. When: 6:30 p.m. Tuesday Sept. 17 Where: Paul L. Dunbar elementary school cafeteria, 2159 West 29th Street How to get there: Follow Lorain, Chatham or Monroe avenues to West 29th, three blocks west of West 25th Street.
