Throwing darts in Cleveland

Submitted by Jeff Buster on Fri, 04/18/2008 - 10:11.

Becky's on about E 18Th and Chester used to be choked with smoke.   The smoke is gone now - thank you very much.   Parking is free in the Becky's lot.   Good salads and fried eats.

And there are these dart boards...

CSU hang out

I have to ask myself:  Is there any bar in Cleveland, I haven't visited?   Perhaps, this doesn't look good on a resume, but I have been to Becky's.  Don't be put off by appearances.  It's a great place to unwind.

went there last night with Ed Hauser

Last night Martha and Jeff and I went down to Ideacenter for the WVIZ screening of Return of the Cuyahoga to see the film and meet the filmmaker. There were lots of familiar faces and Ed was there of course. After the vent, we walked over to becky's where after potato pancakes with sour cream and homemade applesauce and some Dortmunder Gold (which they have on tap), Jeff looked up at the dart board and said, there's a realneo header. He got his camera out and snapped today's header. We didn't eat them, but they serve pierogies, too. Becky's is  the realneo... Tonight I went to Ali Baba's at Lorain and W120th and ate wonderful Middle Eastern food and met the owner who practices Feldenkrais and Reiki with horses and wolves. That's the realneo, too...

Ali Baba's

I wholeheartedly agree; Ali Baba's is WONDERFUL!

Being an East-sider, I am not very familiar with that section of town, but now I have a reason to visit that neighborhood more often. Linda was so kind to keep the restaurant open for us last night, and her stories of how she came to practice therapy with abused animals and the wolf who sought her out at the restaurant's back door would make a great screen play.
