National Updates...

Seattle, Washington. Ed Morrison, Director, I-Open, and Economic Policy Advisor, Purdue Center for Regional Development, will be leading a national workshop with the U.S. Department of Labor focused on Strategic Doing in Seattle, Washington. 20 regions from across the county will be participating this fall. The U.S. Department of Labor is calling it a "Regional Leadership Institute" and will be hosting two events in 2009. Read about the June 4, 2008 North Central Indiana Leadership Forum.

Monterey, California. Meeting of the Minds in Monterey - the teaspoon or the bucket - September 2 - 4, 2008, Monterey Marriott Hotel. Sponsored by the California Workforce Association, Wednesday, September 3, 2008. Ed presents the 1:30 pm – 3:00 pm Plenary Session on Open Source Economic Development.

Boise, Idaho. Ed will be the keynote speaker in Boise, Idaho November 19-20, 2008 talking about workforce transformation strategies to an audience of 300. By showing the power of Social Network Analysis, the citizens of Cuyahoga County can inaugurate a new day of transparency, civility, and shared responsibility in government.
