The Cuyahoga County Commission has adopted an economic development strategy that calls for expanded investment in early childhood development as an economic development strategy. In another example of how early childhood education is moving up the economic development agenda, South Carolina's Secretary of Commerce has authored an opinion piece, "Early childhood education offers huge economic returns".
