Japan's tsunami disaster took an even scarier turn Saturday when an explosion rocked one of the country's nuclear reactors, blowing the roof off the structure and knocking down walls, and causing an unknown amount of radiation to leak. Pressure at the Fukushima nuclear plant began rising when the 8.9 earthquake cut off power to the reactor's cooling system. Pressure is now at twice normal levels, despite venting slightly radioactive vapor. Residents living within 12.5 miles from the reactor have been evacuated. People within 16.2 miles from the reactor have been told to remain indoors. Officials say a meltdown is possible, but that it wouldn't affect residents outside the evacuated radius. Hope you are right on that one, Guy...your predictions have been alarmingly accurate. I have family in the Pacific Northwest--my family has all suffered from the effects of radiation and toxicity--that manifests as thyroid disorder.

I worry about the 9.0 quake predicted for northwestern United States. I can only hope that we consider changing our ways before the planet does become unliveable.

I hope people realize this is amazingly serious if a meltdown happens. The Fallout will travel according to the trade winds...

80-120 rads - You have a 10% chance of vomiting and experiencing nausia for a few days

180-220 rads - You have a 50% chance of vomiting and having other severe physical effects

CJ, During the second ww Japan used paper skinned hot air balloons for sending explosives to the US. They arrived in about 5 days. The globe spins. The atmosphere comes to us from the west. What's the hoax?

Hey Cj, I didn't see wind info in the link you posted.

I don't believe the wind would bring too much nuke dust from Japan anyway, but I am convinced the wind is coming in our direction. Has to be, see ww balloons in prior post - which were made out of mulberry paper - fantastic.
