Rest in Peace,
Eyes on the Prize

I have so many thoughts from today's presentation by Juan Williams at the Cleveland Public Library. First, so grateful for the day off, but also grateful that the weather was nice enough to have brave souls venture out of their winter hiberation to attend. I met some great people including the fabulous Neville K. Robinson - and finally, spoke in person to the Plain Dealer's Phillip Morris.
I can't do justice to the content of Juan Williams presentation - but he engaged the audience with a reflection on the responses he gets to his now-classic Eyes on the Prize : America's Civil Rights Years, 1954-1965. It has been over 25 years since the book was published and it continues to stand the test of time. Juan Williams personal research and reflections are now revisited by contemporary students all over the world - and his writings continue to influence civil rights discussions to this day-quite a legacy for an outstanding journalist.
