Good morning everyone:  I was requested by many to send out a email to address the status of my contracting position and to list options. Over the past two weeks the emails I received from individuals and Safety Committees at CDC's dictated that I need to let everyone know my contract expired on 6/30/12 to report and track streetlights.

As a courtesy I am still following up on a limited basis on old calls I have placed into the CATS repair system. But I am not calling in any new locations. But you will have to report new outages on your own.

 

As most of you know this consulting project was put in place about 15 months ago and was in discussion stages for about six months prior to that. For many years I just volunteered and the project became overwhelming with time and expenses where I just could not do it.

 

This is not to say the project is completely over. I am waiting to have a meeting with Ohio City Inc. and Councilman Joe Cimperman, the primary funding source in making this happen, including in the other Wards. We had a tentative meeting on 7/10, but it was canceled.

 
Both OCI and I feel strongly that the project was effective and made all of the near westside neighborhoods safer and very well lit. This project was also started to take a burden off the councilpersons offices. With our assistance our contracted area is the most well light areas of Cleveland.
 
You will need to call in locations yourselves to CPP at 621-LITE, or report them to your councilman's office.
If the project is restored in the near future we will contact you. Please make sure you write down the tracking number because the CATS is malfunctioning and will not call you back to verify CPP received your complaint or even when it is fixed.
 
You may also contact your councilman's office about the new outages.
 
I would like to thank everyone who supported the street lighting outage and tracking initiative.
 
Secondly, I want to personally thank Brenda Nelson at CPP for all her dedication and efforts in assisting us. I found out yesterday that Brenda is leaving the Street Lighting Department. Many of you know her and she has assisted many of you with complex problems. Please feel free to contact her and let her know she will be missed. I have worked with her for going on five years and she is a consummate professional.
 
She will be missed.
