Land Bank Greenwash project now for Sale ! 2012-2016 Wow!
Koinonia gets approval from Cleveland to build urban farm!
Koinonia was approved by the City of Cleveland to open its vocational urban agricultural Farm in Old Brooklyn (West 41st and Memphis Avenue). The site fits into the City of Cleveland’s urban master plan for development of vacant property sites.
In the search for land, Koinonia partnered with Mr. Gus Frangos, President of the Cuyahoga County Land Bank, Mr. Kevin Kelley, Cleveland Councilman in Ward 13 and the City of Cleveland who worked diligently to make Koinonia’s Farm site a reality.
The new site covers 2.3 acres and will be an urban farm and community garden providing folks with fresh vegetables, job training and community support. The garden will have among other things, a poultry building for fresh egg sales, a rain water retention pool, two greenhouses, and eight crop fields.
Koinonia is elated to be in Old Brooklyn and partnering with the Cuyahoga County Land Bank and the City of Cleveland on this innovative and productive project!
