Pretty amazing what can be done with totally amateur imaging equipment these days. From the back porch to the computer and then onto the web. Almost at no cost. Check out the material tracks out of the crater on the lower right hand side. Well at least Japan hasn't been hit with a meteor like this. Here is a link to an image of the moon on December 12, 2008. Notice that the axis of the moon has changed position relative to something - or probably relative to a number of things - including the date, time, location of image capture, etc etc. Complex stuff
