Councilman Cimperman to Honor Volunteers of the St. Augustine Church and Hunger Center Volunteer leaders to be presented with a resolution at Monday's Council meeting Monday, January 31, 2011, 7pm Cleveland City Council Chambers, 601 Lakeside Avenue Please join Councilman Joe Cimperman in honoring volunteers and supporters of the St. Augustine Church and Hunger Center with a resolution at the Cleveland City Council Meeting on Monday, January 31st at 7pm. The much-deserved volunteers that will be honored include Father Joe McNulty of St. Augustine Church, Sister Corita Ambro of St. Augustine Church, Mark Munch Bishop of Munch on Sports Radio, and Arthur Elk and David Elk of Elk and Elk Attorneys. The St. Augustine Hunger Center is an outgrowth of the ministry and service of St. Augustine Church.

The Hunger Center was founded more than 35 years ago as part of an effort to provide food to the poor during the depression and hard economic times. Volunteers provide meals to thousands of hungry and needy Clevelanders daily as well as prepare Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter meals annually.

The St. Augustine parish not only provides meals, but addresses other needs of the poor and the homeless such as food, clothing, emergency funding for rent and utilities, furniture, appliances as well as helping poor receive medical assistance. "The volunteers at the St. Augustine Hunger Center are a great example of the generosity and commitment of residents of our hometown," said Councilman Cimperman.

"I am pleased to give this long overdue recognition to the people who continually lend their assistance to take care of Clevelanders so our city can grow and thrive." Please visit www.tremontwest.org for more event and meeting information. Contact Information phone: 216-575-0920
