we have filed an americans disability act complaint "cannot walk safely in tremont and other issues"Submitted by Quest-News-Serv... on Mon, 04/06/2009 - 22:33.
hi jeerlien and henry we know each others spirit so well and we work together on issues to improve lifes and we don't have to thank each other in public -
but i want to let everyone know that the parking safety issue in tremont is a "disaster waiting to happen" as you all stated so well and as we spoke when yogi and me walk tremont almost every day or nite doing our networking and anti-crime we have to at times go through the tremont parking obsiticle (spelling) course between parked "cars from the bars" and for yogi my service k-9 thats supposed to protect me and guide me from cars parked on the side walks in drive ways blocking the side walks and and cars parked on the tree lawns and cars parked in the cross walks and cars doubled parked on the streets and the cars are big and expensive cars -
and anyone can hide behind and mugg rob assualt kidnapp anyone walking by and not be seen clearly and just to mention us poor challeged united states armed forces veterans that have volunteered to give our lives for others and presently do and the civilians that are challanged (handicapped) that don't go for walks or ride in their wheel chairs etc.-
i feel like the hero in the book "stranger in a strange land"
yogi at times doesn't want to continue our walk as yogi tells me esp and body language "danger"-
and the poor velay (spelling) parkers that run to the cars and drive the cars fast to the customers that almost crash or hit a human-
so the laws aren't for poverty as much and lawlessness much more for the wealthy-
so the "golden rule" doesn't appy that much in tremont-
imagine when the weather is warmer tremont might become a permanent roped chained off community like they do already when the businesses have their street money makers ( i hope i didn't give them an idea)-
residents can only walk in certain areas - because of cars only areas - which take up most of tremont-
we laugh or cry - but tremont will be a gated community if it keeps going the way it is-
this is why the tremont development corporation bylaws need to be changed to have seven of the fifteen board members be low income poverty persons - because the fifteen board members mostly past and present don't address poverty deversity programs - i.e. money is more important than individual people-
most tremont west development employees are wonderfull and don't get wealthy money wise useing their insider informatiom-
i'm not against the free enterprise system - unless they are aganist the "golden rule" - "do unto others as you would have them do unto you"
so our americans disability act complaint "cannot walk safely in tremont and other issues" should bring us some protection.
eternal thanks
yogi and guy

Guy,
I appreciate how you have framed this issue-considering many sides and motivations for the current situation. I also like how you identified some potential solutions and are willing to speak up for the most vulnerable of us.
