BigLittle Cat Day at Cleveland Metroparks ZooSubmitted by JGratry on Tue, 10/04/2005 - 14:38.
10/10/2005 - 10:00 Celebrate cool cats at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo during BigLittle Cat Day on Monday, October 10, 2005 from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.* (* The Zoo is open from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) Whether you find cats aloof or adorable you’re bound to learn something new about felines. The Zoo’s extensive cat collection includes cheetahs, clouded leopards, Pallas’ cats, snow leopards, fishing cats, lions, Persian leopards and Siberian tigers. As a member of the Species Survival Program Cleveland Metroparks Zoo coordinates with other accredited institutions to ensure the future of all cat species. Learning about big cats and conserving their native habitats is crucial to their survival. Such information is important especially for clouded, Persian and snow leopards and Siberian tigers, which are on the Endangered Species List. During BigLittle Cat Day pounce around using the complimentary "Paws-n-Claws" guide that lists the Zoo’s cat exhibits and specially scheduled Meet-the-Cat-Keeper opportunities. And, lets not forget about Cleveland’s city kitties. The Cleveland Animal Protective League (APL) mobile adoption unit will be outside the Zoo on the Ticket Plaza (Zoo admission not required to stop by the APL.) Join APL representatives in celebrating domestic cats and learn about the benefits of adopting a shelter cat. Cats and kittens will be available for adoption during BigLittle Cat Day from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Location
