Is it ok for Tremont West employees or board members to refer to members of the community as stupid hillbillies or niggers?

TWDC leadership figures...

that if they can steer out the "STUPID HILLBILLIES" ...then they can profiteer off of their properties....

"them there administrators and leaders of TWDC are simply "DOING BUSINESS AS USUAL!"

Tis only gonna continue until they kill off and steer out them stupid hillbillies who fail to realize that this land is not theirs anymore...but is a target of speculators....like those TWDC folks!

How do you lock polls so that they are not disrupted?

I posted my poll prior to leaving for work and it was taken down when I returned from work- on the same day.  I reposted and it has obviously been taken down for a second time.

I clicked the box for this poll to run for one lousy day.

I would like to post my poll- which is probably the third poll that I have posted in nearly three years.  If we can not have common courtesty here, can you please see if the poll can lock for the time period that was requested?

Requesting a poll to run for one full day isn't much too ask for.

Thanks.  Lily

Yes. There are no laws against referring to certain community members as 'stupid hillbillies' or 'niggers'.

It is what it is

Oh, how I loathe to wade in to this mess.....but sometimes, you have to put on the waders and walk into the river.

Thanks for doing this poll, Lily Miller. The last response of "Yes. It is what it is" is a take off of Frank Jackson ("It is what it is" equals "apathy").

If you or I are aware of this type of feeling and abuse to the neighborhood by the staff and or Board of a publicly funded organization, and fail to speak out, you or I are tolerating racism.

You were right to do this. I am sorry that these pages have become filled with the ranting and polls by someone taking this simple poll out of context and using it for another purpose.

I am sorry. Lily Miller, that you have become the target of rage that is personal in nature. It is clear what your poll stated, and it is there for all to see. I know that many polls have been done since this poll  with wild accusations and frank distortions of these words.

People are afraid of the charge of racism. It is used on occasions, like this, to further an agenda, or to silence free rights. It really is not any different than when people trying to organize around women's' rights are called femi-nazis or man-haters; the same for trying to fight social injustices on any issue.

Someone wants to silence you, and to set precedence for realneo, and freedom of the press. The founders of realeno have made it clear that posters are reporters, unedited.

The freedom of speech has been afforded on this site to other writers, who rail against alleged corrupt judges, court systems, police, and community leaders.

You have the same rights as any other reporter.

Racism is alive and infiltrates our lives on every level. It needs to be addressed. You did that.

False charges of racism, and ugly threats, and the flaming of untrue fires, undermines the true work of those who care.

Here is the link to the story that brought the poll about.

I am, in writing this, hoping that people stop and think about the call out of TWDC. How far from the intent of the poll this issue has been driven. What is the goal and intent of the last 48 hours by the words written on these pages at realneo.us?

AGREED....
