Bridget Ginley to Curate New Slavic Village Art SpaceSubmitted by Norm Roulet on Wed, 02/01/2006 - 17:10.
I just saw posted on Bridget Ginley's blog, http://erieeffusion.blogspot.com/ ...she's curating a new art space in Slavic Village. The opening is tonight, if you see this last minute - see more info below, from another interesting NEO blog, http://wildplum.blogspot.com/... I couldn't say it better myself! Art goddess suprema of the universe Bridget Ginley stole our hearts long ago with her master works, fantastic events at Buzz Gallery and the first-rate wit she displays on her blog. Additional air kisses and puppy dog eyes are extended to her for her latest endeavor, Art in the Village @ 5700. Located within the main offices of Neighborhood Housing Services of Greater Cleveland at 5700 Broadway Ave. in the Slavic Village Historic Business District, this new space offers a unique opportunity to showcase area emerging artists. Ginley will lend her creative flare to the project as curator of the space. Lou Tisler, Executive Director of NHSGC states, “Opening our doors to the opportunity of the mixing of local artists with the art serious and art curious creates a critical mass of community, culture and sense of place.” Check out Art in the Village @ 5700 Monday through Friday, 9am–5pm. The space will rotate local artists each month. Art in the Village @ 5700's first event is a showing of photographer Barbara Breen's black and white images of the Slavic Village neighborhood, on view February 1- March 1.

One paycheck
It is disturbing to note that the current structure of our economy and our collective consumer behavior leaves us all one paycheck away from losing our homes. Think about it.
