The nights are cooler. We will soon be sleeping longer. Leaves change color and our minds turn inward to the landscape of imaginary worlds. The Migration exhibit at the Cleveland Public Library's Eastman Reading Garden is perfect place to visit before the long winter. To remind children, that birds do return in the spring. And, that friendly lions are forever roaming in the pages of a book.

Yesterday was a great day to spend inside looking at artwork at MOCA Cleveland.  Kirk Mangus show was a beautiful present to myself.  Hope MOCA archives their shows, but in the event, not - here is the information from their website (see attached images inthe attached directory):

Northern Ohio Illustrator Society exhibit opening at CWRU Art Education - this Friday. Followed by Halloween event w/live music on Saturday night. FREE and open to the public.

Step into Fashion

Come to the Cleveland Public Library and check out the latest Fashion Display.  Social Sciences Department is highlighting books from their collection on fashion.  Check out the cool photographs of fashions from the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s and 1980s.

Location

Gary Spinosa's back at the non-profit Sandusky Cultural Center. The new show, Preconceived Objects, also includes Geoff Buddie, Elizabeth Emery, Jon Gott, Josh Haplea, Carey McDougal, Wendy Partridge, Emily Sullivan, and Chris Rom.
The opening's Sunday, April 15, but the show runs through May 20.

Two elementary students from Buhrer Dual Language K-8 School on Cleveland’s near west side will travel to New York City to perform their original poems at the historic Apollo Theater for the sixth annual National Poetry SLAM on Monday, April 16. Fifth grader Tamia B., age 11, and fourth grader Sebastian M., age 10, will represent America SCORES Cleveland alongside 28 youth from 15 cities across the country.

Aspire Auctions, located on the web and headquartered in Cleveland Ohio, is about to celebrate 10 years in business. Starting on Larchmere Blvd. in Shaker Heights, the company started out with three people and now has a fulltime staff of 11 and two locations. The auction house moved to it's current location in the historic Bloch Building in Downtown Cleveland three years ago and has a second location in Shady Side near Pittsburgh PA.
