Cleveland Critical Mass - June Ride - This Friday!

Submitted by hjgkhjgkhg on Thu, 06/23/2011 - 11:01.

400 Bikes expected!

The first Cleveland Critical Mass ride of the summer takes place Friday, June 24. We begin meeting on Public Square at 6pm and depart promptly at 6:30pm for an hour or so bicycle ride.

This month's ride will feature a bicycle wedding! Bob Peck and Amy Dwyer Hawk, two loyal CCM participants and boosters, will be getting married on their bikes on Public Square just before 6pm, so arrive early if you wish to watch the ceremony! When CCM departs, the wedding party and guests will ride with us. Come celebrate this momentous occasion that will surely be the talk of the town!

Beginning this month, CCM is making some slight changes to be more inclusive and accommodating of people's schedules. For those of you who can't make it to the square by 6:30, the tentative plan is for the group to do a second pass through Public Square at approximately 7pm, so you can join us then.

The June ride will conclude at the Academy Tavern, 12800 Larchmere Boulevard for food, drinks, and socializing. Shaker Square is only a few blocks away, so there's an option to take the RTA Rapid Green/Blue Line into Public Square for the start of the ride or at its conclusion.

Lastly, as always, please familiarize yourself with the guiding principles on the About page of http://www.clevelandcriticalmass.com/. Happy riding!

critical mass fun!

First, congrats to the happy couple. Wedding on the wheels!

Second, last summer, I unwittling got caught in traffic (I was in a car) as hundreds of bicyclists rode down W. 25th. Cars gave the road over to the cyclist. Part of this was sure to be the rare site of all the cyclists, hot day, sweating under all the helmets, and grinning broadly. The other part of it was just being there as happy, healthy, people interacted on the bikes and just had a great time.

I hope that Cleveland Critical Mass has a ride on the west side this summer. I would go just to pick up some good vibrations!

bike wedding tonight !!

Wish I could be there tonight--alas:

Critical Mass Wedding Images - anyone have some?

I was unable to attend the event, and I am interested in seeing posted a few images of this unique wedding on two wheels - was it conducted while rolling or while stationary?.

If you have  wedding on wheels images and don't intend to post them yourself, please contact me (click on my user name),  and we can make arrangments.  Thanks. Jeffb
