I tried to use my 5-day pass on the bus today and the machine would not accept it, so rather than having my pass manually punched--I got off. When I got on the train at West 25th there was no ticket taker and the train did not accept fares. Like many other people today. I rode FREE.

Only at the end of my trip did I realize that the fare machines were turned on--so, to keep myself honest--I paid. Crazy world.
