Airports are the largest air pollution generator in a community - larger than many coal fired power plants.    And the noise from airport landings and take offs reduces the quality of life (and sleep) for millions of people around the airport.  

Air travel is the least energy efficient mode of transportation. 

Airports depress housing values and thus depress tax revenues for airport communities. 

What neighbor wants an airport "HUB" in their backyard?  Might as well live next to a sewerage treatment plant.  Actually, when you think about it, living next to a sewerage treatment plant is HEALTHIER than breathing half burnt kerosene jet fuel and having your house vibrate every 60 seconds. 

While the purported "economic benefits" of air port traffic are touted by our local business, governmental, and media folks, the unanswered question is: what is the airport pollution really doing to our health and wealth?
