My friend Yip is an avid and experienced ocean fisher- both surfcaster and boat based .    

He explained that once you get that pull - and the fish is trying to save it's life - you get addicted. 

(As I get older I find it more difficult to get excited about killing anything...)

But, even though the 40 or so folks on this cold, foggy beach were not getting any hits, the word was out that the stripers are running,  and so, so were they.  

And having a lot of fun, I could tell.
