04/14/2006 - 19:00 04/14/2006 - 22:00 Etc/GMT-4 Looking for someething to do this Friday, why not stop by Assemble for the closing reception of Smile on the Rocks: The artwork of Keith Warren Greiman & Keith Andrew Shore. If you haven't seen the show yet, this is your last chance to gaze upon these one of a kind pieces that have formally graced the pages of ReadyMade, Bust, SOMA & Faeshetic... (to name just a few). The closing reception runs 7pm-10pm this Friday, April 14st. Keith Andrew Shore and Keith Warren Greiman share a same first name, a same home town (Philadelphia), and a similar aesthetic. Despite these common bonds both artists infuse their work with a distinct style and sensibility. Greiman's work is often vibrantly colorful, depicting a fairy tale world where humans and animals commingle. Shore's work, on the other hand, is full of rich and intense line work, focusing more on the drawing of characters and portraiture. "Smile on the rocks" is a collection of their most recent individual and collaborative works. Also, please mark your calendar for next Friday, April 21st, as it marks the triumphant return of the boys & girls from 409, and the opening of our next exhibit The Passion of the 409. Once again the artists and designers of 409 will invade Assemble Gallery for an annual exhibition of new works from the top ranks of their collective consciousness. Every year this exhibition showcases the private endeavors some of Cleveland's best designers, artists and creative individuals who are all members 409. More information can be found by going to: www.assemblegallery.com. Also Friday at the 1300 complex, 1300 Gallery hosts a special one night event entitled Euclid Photo Project, "Portraits of Impact: A Celebration of the Unseen and Unsung.". Curated by Kent Smith & Tracy Wienhold, this show spotlights community members, high school teachers and students who took over 600 photos of individuals making a difference in their community. Ski Nebraska will be providing music and will be using the event as a CD Release Party also. More information about this exhibit can be found by clicking over to: www.13hundred.com.
