There is a fantastic event right here in your town that has been going on for 11 years.
It’s the Rock Your World Festival and Art Exhibition Month....

… And we desperately need your help. We need volunteers !

This event is the premier event of the Department of Arts Education of the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. This is our 11th year of producing this fun packed month of events. Please come out to some of our events and learn what we know – the kids of CMSD actually do some great and wonderful things.

And what better way to see the work these kids do, then up close and personal as a volunteers.

Beginning Sat. May 1st, Visual Art work of the students of the Cleveland Metropolitan School District go on display at 3 of the Cleveland Public Libraries. The 3 sites are
- Carnegie West Library 1900 Fulton Rd. (at Lorain Ave.) Cleveland, OH 44113
- the Stokes Wing of the Main Library 325 Superior Ave., Cleveland, OH 44114
- Memorial Nottingham Library 17109 Lake Shore Blvd. Cleveland, OH 44110

We need volunteers to help hang student art work – its actually very easy – on Friday afternoon, April 30th and the morning / early afternoon of Sat. May 1st. If you want to know more contact me, Karen M. C.-Keys at (216) 574-8635 or by replying to this posting or by e-mail at karen.clark-keys@cmsdnet.net

The exhibitions are free and open to the public during the libraries normal working hours. Portions of the exhibition are also rotated to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and to the lobby of the Ohio Theater.

The next and most fun event is the Rock Your World Festival, always held the 3rd Saturday of May, this year it will be

Sat., May 15th.

This day-long festival is held at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Students from all over the District come to sing, dance, play in bands, drum, and exhibit their artistic talents.

Open to the public from 9:30 to 4:00pm and its free.

We need the greatest number of volunteers for that day. Working only in 2 hour shifts, this is a great opportunity with a good number of perks built in, including a Thank You dinner and Orientation Wed. May 12th, and free tickets to the Rock Hall good for the balance of the year.
If you are interested in volunteering for the Sat. May 15th Festival, please contact Cynthia Gilchrist-Gist at (216) 574-4326 or by e-mail at Cynthia.L.Gilchrist@cmsdnet.net .

Even if you don’t volunteer, please come out for this free and fun event !

Last but not least – The All-City Musical ! This year we are mounting FAME !
Public performances are Fri. June 4th, to Sun. June 6th.
This is a fully professionally directed, staged and mounted show held at the Ohio Theater. Our Director is our own Mr. Tony Sias. If you know Tony, then you know everything he does is top shelf.
Tickets are only $15 so please come out.

But we do have need for volunteers, so please contact me about the art exhibition, or Cynthia about the Rock Hall day.

Even if you can not come, please pass this on to others
