Lake Erie ice and Cleveland light house

 Even with the wind chill from the north wind coming across from Canada being way below zero - the birds seemed completely oblivious. Swimming, sitting on the ice, and flying around with joy, there are thousands of birds in this image - but too small to see. As in the Artic with penguins, what's with all the avian activity when it is so damn cold?
