Senseless destruction

Please see this recent Cleveland Area History post -

Another architectural gem condemned by the unexamined push and rush to use federal and state dollars to destroy our local history.

This is the game plan--to demolish structures along "commercial" routes in NEO.  In most cases, taxpayers will eat the cost for this senseless destruction intended in the long run to benefit "developers."

I write about this here at REALNEO, because it is related to the many posts you have seen here on the shady real estate legacy of Jim Rokakis, Gus Frangos, the Board of Revision and now the Cuyahoga Land Reutilization Corporation, better known as the Land Bank.

It sickens me that we allow ourselves to be governed by individuals who profiteer at the expense of our neighbors and our rich cultural heritage.  We all lose here.
