So to sum up Slavic Village gets the houses for free, does nothing with them, does not pay the back taxes and now sells them FOR PROFIT. I thought only out of state investors perpetuated this kind of scam.  And they DID cough up some cash for the properties.

What I find most appalling is the PD and other media outlets revelling in his takedown without examining their own role in perpetuating and covering up the corruption in this town. 

PD Editor Elizabeth Sullivan appeared on Ideastream|NPR-controlled Feagler show and demanded a long sentence for Dimora.  At least, Channel 19 recognizes the hypocrisy of the sentencing.

the slum at 6608 Gertrude had no takers so it is now a vacant lot with taxes owed of $6162.88

the slum at 6705 Clement also had no takers so it is still owned by Slavic Village with back taxes owed if $4105

Slavic Village Recovery = Forest City Enterprises & Safeguard Properties.   This is the equivalent of buying contaminated property in bum fuck Egypt and building a juvenile justice center.

The $1,300,000 mortgage list this property as collateral.   This is just the 'Tip of the Iceberg in a master plan for the neighborhood":

The Feds raided the Indy County Land Bank for a similar scam with a non-profit giving away taxpayer's property to a for-profit company.

Ugh. Thanks for the follow up Gone Fishin' what a scam! No one will buy anyone of those houses which they will list at $150,000 because of the new "flooring" but the basements will fill up in the first heavy rain. They will all be rented section 8. No one who is actually willing to live in (no longer) Slavic Village can qualify for a mortgage. Like most of the rip off badly renovated slums in the Cleveland Housing Network portfolio of former HUD homes.
