Today, I spent the morning at City Hall.  My mission took me to the 5th Floor Records Window where a very pleasant young man ask if he could be of assistance.

It seems as though City Inspector Francis Cirvencic has been a busy man and from what I understand, he plans on spending some more time in Tremont.

As the helper pecked away at his computer, page after page after page of Violation Notices crawled out of the printer.

thanks Jerleen.

While it's about time - who

While it's about time - who was behind keeping the inspectors at bay for so long?  Under whose direction did inspectors skip over this part of the city?

None of these patio's use has been discontinued

As far as I know, patios are still in use. Do they have notices to appear before Housing Court? I don't think they'll be threatened with demolition or liens.

As for Westtown Tire, I am not sure the auto stuff adjoining is Ruben's. A very nice, hard working guy who will do his best to get you a good set of tires at a good price, as he has done for me, and then told me that they should be checked monthly and to come by and they'll check them for me. Which they do, very pleasantly.

PATIO LAW-BREAKERS CONTINUE TO IGNORE VIOLATION NOTICES

Certain business owners in Tremont who received a non-compliant patio violation notice continue to ignore the law while at the same time are looking for a reward for bad behavior from Councilman Cimperman, Dept. of Building & Housing and the Zoning Board.

Some have based this request on "ignorace of the law" inasmuch as "we didn't know we were noncompliant."  That does not fly since we all know that "ignorance of the law" is not an excuse not to mention that common sense prevails.

Their cooks probably spit in customers' food

If these restaurant owners are so ignorant, why should we trust them to prepare the food we eat.... that may make us sick or kill us.

Seems an illegal patio is a sign of a restaurant owner too stupid to protect citizens by protecting public health and safety and so should be avoided by patrons at all costs. Their cooks probably spit in customers' food, as the owners spit on our rights

This is addition to some of these very same business owners receive property tax breaks while others do not.  From what I understand there is to be an investigation into some of Tremont's business owners and certain elected officials for helping Tremont business owners.

There damn well should be... I can see it coming!

There damn well should be... you West Side warriors shall bring the light to your neighborhoods... I can see it coming!

Jerleen..what ever happened to all these violations? Smiles.

See your original post above for refs.

(Figure that they all got their slaps on the wrist along, but still curious.)
