FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: December 15, 2008 News Advisory Mayor Jackson Announces Christmas Holiday Meal Site Locations for Area Residents CLEVELAND – Mayor Frank G. Jackson, Honorary Co-Chair of Greater Cleveland’s annual “Harvest for Hunger” Food Drive, has asked the City’s Food Drive Chairman to work with the local hunger agencies to prepare a list of meal site locations for Cleveland’s print, radio, and television media. This effort will help ensure that Cleveland families who are in need can receive a Christmas Holiday meal. Program hours and locations may change. For complete information, call United Way’s 211-First  Call for Help at 216/436-2000. This line is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including Christmas. The Christmas Holiday meal site locations follow below. CATHOLIC HUNGER & SHELTER NETWORK For more information, and to volunteer/donate, please call 216/781-5530 For the 35th year, St Augustine’s Church, 2486 W. 14th St., will serve a complete meal on Christmas Day, Thursday, December 25th, 2008, on church grounds as well as at the other locations within the City of Cleveland listed below, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Meals are available to anyone in need and/or living alone who would enjoy sharing a meal with others. In addition, the Church will provide transportation to and from the meal as well as deliver meals to homebound people. Those who wish to register for a meal, need a ride to a meal site, and/or need a meal delivered to them should call St Augustine’s at 216/781-5880, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. In addition, there is a special need for volunteers to help in serving, packing, and distributing meals to the homebound throughout the city.
