September 11, 2001

My recollection of the horror felt on September 11, 2001 includes one of the last conversations I had with my grandmother before she died. My grandmother and I cried on September 11, 2001. My grandmother relived the Allied bombing of Dresden and the horrors she witnessed in Budapest, Hungary during World War II.
She did not have much faith in our ability to overcome evil. She witnessed horrible atrocities in Hungary during the last days before the end of the war in Europe. I am so afraid that we have not learned any lessons since my grandmother was born in 1917. Since the Civil War in America.

thanks for sharing the story with me yesterday. I would like to hear more about your grandmother's story.
I was a consultant to Joe
I was a consultant to Joe Baum, creator of Windows On The World Restaurant located on the 107th floor in the North Tower of the World Trade Center.
73 Window's employees were murdered by terrorists that morning of 9/11/2001 together with countless other victims attending breakfast.
James B. Stewart wrote a story about my HERO, Rick Rescorla, Susan Greer, Buddy the dog and Dan Hill, my friend. REAL HEROES was published in the February issue of The New Yorker Magazine. It is a LOVE STORY. It is a must read... in my opinion.
James B. Stewart is a Pulitzer Prize author. The article is a wonderful story about an immigrant and a snapshot of the lives of some wonderful people.
If you GOOGLE search: The Real Heroes Are Dead by James B Stewart you will find the story.
Stewart's book, published later that year 2002, Heart Of A Soldier, was designated by Time Magazine as the best non-fiction book of 2002. In the book Stewart answers most questions about all the people in REAL HEROES ARE DEAD... including Buddy
Personally, I read REAL HEROES numerous times each year... but especially during the week before 9/11.

We take so much for granted.
Great book
Heart of a Soldier was a great book. I didn't know until researching the book "We Were Soldiers" that the cover photo was a picture of Rescorla. Battle hardened in the Ia Drang valley, hero to the workers of the World Trade Center that got out in time. .Good link to additional information.
God Bless our soldiers.

Budweisercomme
(7.1MB)rci...
This is the commercial spot Budweiser produced after 9-11 The video was aired only once then into the vault.. The only once was the 2002 Super Bowl.
Budweiser only aired the video once... out of RESPECT for the victims and their loved ones... and so as not in any way to benefit financially from this tragity.
But they also wanted to acknowledge the tragic event - 9/11- out of RESPECT
The 1:03 second video is so consistent with a company that seems to always does things with unlimited class!!
I did not recall seeing this video titled RESPECT until today.
Talk about a picture being worth a thousand words!
