Women mechanics - why not?

You don't find many women mechanics - why is that ? Sure, there is the oil and grease which gets under your fingernails and in your skin, but there are surgical gloves which can help. Strength (assuming men's arm and hand stregth is generally greater than women's) may be another reason - but the stength issue is offset by the smaller size of women's hands - smaller hands being particularly an advantage with today's cars with everything crammed in - and even an advantage with older cars - like Chevy vans - where small hands are a big help in changing the spark plugs.

So why aren't there more women mechanics?

Shana worked at my friend's garage - I caught her here while she was changing an alternator.
