12/27/2005 - 10:00 12/27/2005 - 15:00 Etc/GMT-4 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE MEDIA ADVISORY ‘Emerging Cleveland’ to lead holiday tours for ex-patsCLEVELAND -- The student chapter of the American Planning Association at CSU’s Levin College of Urban Affairs will present a holiday tour of new developments and off-the-beaten-track gems in the City of Cleveland. The dates of the tours, December 27 and January 3, are meant to catch students and young professionals returning to Cleveland to visit family for the holidays. Among destinations to be visited are the city's burgeoning artists' live-work district, Chinatown, the EcoVillage townhouses, new HOPE VI developments in Central and the Lincoln Park Baths in Tremont. “A lot of younger people come home for the holidays and end up stranded in Brunswick or North Olmsted without much to do,” said Justin Glanville, one of the students organizing the tour. He added: “We’re hoping to show ex-pats that there’s more to Cleveland than the suburbs, and to change the perception that there’s nothing going on here beyond the West Side Market and the Art Museum.” Glanville and Erin Aleman, both master’s students in Levin College’s urban planning program, will lead tour-goers around the city in a 15-person van. The half-day excursion will include lunch, stops at destination points and guest speakers. The CSU student chapter of the American Planning Association was created for Levin College students and alumni to share their thoughts, ideas and work related to the planning field. The tour is free thanks to a grant from Levin College, but reservations are necessary. When: December 27, 2005 and January 3, 2005, beginning at 10 a.m. Lunch stop included. Justin Glanville, 216-269-0779 or Erin Aleman, 734-678-0872 ### Location
