Judge4yourself.com - one source of information re: voting on judicial candidates

Submitted by Jeff Buster on Fri, 10/05/2012 - 13:35.

Electing judges is not the right way to go, but in Ohio that's how it's done.

So how do you determine who to vote for?

Difficult for the layman - because in Cuyahoga County alone there are over 90 elected judicial offices - see following from Judge4yourself

Bootblock malware - Verizon lacks adequate software security superiority

Submitted by Jeff Buster on Sat, 09/29/2012 - 20:37.

Image above of cell phone screen with bootblock jam.

9.30.12 Note:   Yesterday's post is inaccurate.   This is not a malware problem or a Verizon problem. This is a Samsung cell phone problem.   The following rant against Verizon is baseless.  I recharged the Samsung phone (which is about 2 years old) and today the phone is functioning properly.

Original inaccurate post follows:

Who looks at Realneo...?

Submitted by Jeff Buster on Fri, 09/28/2012 - 20:18.

While I was speaking with Admin the other day about Guy's PETA post which had been trunkated in advancement to the home page, I learned something that I had no idea about...Who's looking at Realneo!

Now I look (click on)Realneo pretty much everyday, but I also have work to do so I don't expect I am the biggest clicker on Realneo.

Well Admin, who have access to the Realneo server logs, told me that the biggest looker (over the last two weeks) was Google.

The following is Joe Bialek's letter published here with his permission:

Nikon bird watching etiquette - for once not corporate greenwash - hat tip to Nikon

Submitted by Jeff Buster on Sat, 08/11/2012 - 12:34.

My interests in image recording sent me to this Nikon website - I was looking for some high powered lens for wildlife recording, with sterio audio and GPS.   What I surprizingly found is this Nikon advice on birding etiquette.   Read it - it isn't pablum but the real deal...

I compliment Nikon for being a corporation which on this web page hasn't spun...greenwashing.

Mars or Lake Erie? - Probably Mars 1st

Submitted by Jeff Buster on Wed, 08/08/2012 - 22:01.

Solar panels in Cleveland?   Bill Mason's wind turbines in Lake Erie "about 3 miles off" Cleveland?  I don't think so....

Cleveland is too corrupt, too ignorant, to advance.

And the Ohio Coal Lobby and the rail road coal haulers don't want any change.  Of Course.

But - we were able to land this 6 wheeled robot on Mars.

double basket spider web

Submitted by Jeff Buster on Thu, 07/26/2012 - 15:39.

We have all around us a natural "envelop of protection” - but, alas, many of us don't see it that way.  All around us insects and animals go about their daily business of "balancing" the species.   Spiders reduce all those insects which bother us...their webs are natural “window screening”.

I am always encouraged when I see a new variation on an old theme.   Just when you thought skyscraper design was a dead end, you look out of your car window and see that an architect (and a bunch of computers linked to fabricators) have come up with something new and intersting.

The image isn't of an eviction or foreclosure.   The image is a graduation image.   Rent for a year, move on.

Everything is cheap in America.    Cheap to buy, cheap to trash.

These folks put all their furniture out on the curb - their young son was concerned and put up the paper signs -
