Is your RTA route getting cut?

from the PD (which also offers the list of routes to be cut) -- how about it cleveland? let's bring out the crowds for the eight public hearings and bring some ideas to the table...

Thousands of RTA riders will have to find another way to get to their destination if the agency eliminates 12 percent of its bus routes.

All or most of 32 routes likely will disappear next April, Michael York, deputy general manager of operations, told RTA's board on Tuesday.

Follow the poverty

"Cleveland has lost more population and housing in the past 5 years than previous trends would have suggested.... The movement of many poor residents to the suburbs surrounding Cleveland is one aspect of the new reality. A early sign of this trend can be seen in the growth of foodstamp recipients in many suburban municipalities.

Great moments in Lakefront development

When the Cleveland-to-Hudson section of the Cleveland & Pittsburgh (later Pennsylvania) opened on February 22 [1851], John G. Stockley lost his fight to preserve the lakefront for parks and docks. "You're letting the railroad ruin the most beautiful thing we have," he protested. But the tracks remained, henceforth to complicate lakefront problems.
