Is Evacuating Cleveland of residents - ACTUALLY GOOD financially for the municipal burearocracy AND large business?

Submitted by Jeff Buster on Sun, 02/12/2012 - 21:49.

 As I age

I try to force myself - on every issue (on multiple levels) - to think backward - to think upside down. To think like I was crazy. To think like I was evil minded. To think like I was rational and above it all . To not think and jerk my knee.   OUT OF THE BOX!!!   What's the answer?....

Our Government is lying to us - and we believe the lie - feels good!

Submitted by Jeff Buster on Sat, 02/11/2012 - 22:17.

These analogue TV's dumped in front of book donation boxes are a lucid example of how our government - local, state, and federal -  miserably fails us.

Across the United States corporations are encouraged to SELL SELL SELL (our "economy" is 70% "consumer" driven) - and yet our legislators never ask the obvious question:

|What's going to happen to all the old crap which the new crap displaces?

When will pattern analysis search return genetic code?

Submitted by Jeff Buster on Sat, 02/11/2012 - 20:32.

Both of these images show organically produced fiber - and both the fiber in the donkey's fur and the fiber in the American white ash have extremely  similar wavey structure.

Is there a similar gene in the wood fiber and hair fiber which is associated with the wavy-ness?

image too full of shadow - HDR can help

Submitted by Jeff Buster on Sat, 02/11/2012 - 00:45.

Computer + camera = faster (but usually not better) than the eye.   But faster than our brains.   High Dynamic Range (HDR) image capture is a high speed multiple sampling - with the camera's built in computer analyzing the underexposed and overexposed frames and combining them.

But our modern understanding of the word ‘propaganda' would be closer to the definition of ‘brainwashing’ than it would be to the original meaning of ‘that which ought to be spread’  -- thanks, not to Adolf Hitler and the Nazis -- but rather to Woodrow Wilson and Walter Lippman of the New York Times. The principles of modern propaganda codified by Lippman and Bernays proved themselves so effective that they have become so much a part of American politics that Americans living in the ‘land of the free’ and the ‘ho

St. Olaf at Mary Queen of Peace

Submitted by lmcshane on Wed, 02/08/2012 - 06:06.

A beautiful night for CLE--as the heavenly choir of St. Olaf performed for a capacity crowd of 700+ at Mary Queen of Peace (formerly Our Lady of Good Counsel) in Old Brooklyn.  For Old Brooklyn and Brooklyn Centre residents--getting there was as easy as a brisk winter's walk.

Mr. Dimora is now working for the taxpayers - ironically

Submitted by Jeff Buster on Tue, 02/07/2012 - 21:57.

Mr. Dimora was always about 15 minutes late to meetings he attended - I was there.   Just a  little slap in the public's face, no matter.

Now, however, with the ongoing federal trial in Akron, Ohio, Mr. Jim Dimora is finally giving us taxpayers a little value.

Composite Structure - tire with tensile and compressive elements - like fiberglass

Submitted by Jeff Buster on Sat, 02/04/2012 - 21:35.

The image above is of the Goodyear Wrangler tire which blew out on the rear axel of my van.

Every car has a tire constructed just like this.  Fabric (polyester, etc) cord running across the tire, and steel cord alligned around  the circumference of the tire.

Synthetic rubber everwhere in between.

When it blows up - this is what it looks like.

De-lamination.

Now and Then - harvesting salt from an evaporation pond

Submitted by Jeff Buster on Fri, 02/03/2012 - 12:35.

The image above shows the harvesting of salt from the Cargill salt ponds on the southern end of Bonaire, WI.

There are just two employees - one operating the Caterpillar dozer and one driving the Caterpillar belly dump.  The belly dump is filled to overflowing in just a few minutes.   Much of this salt gets shipped by sea to the icy parts of North America for road de-icing.
