Thirteen Handstones By Gary Spinosa

Gary Spinosa's back at the non-profit Sandusky Cultural Center. The new show, Preconceived Objects, also includes Geoff Buddie, Elizabeth Emery, Jon Gott, Josh Haplea, Carey McDougal, Wendy Partridge, Emily Sullivan, and Chris Rom.
The opening's Sunday, April 15, but the show runs through May 20.

Cleveland Kids Travel to NYC, Perform on Apollo Stage for National Poetry Celebration

Tamia and Sebastian perform their original poems at the 2011 America SCORES Cleveland Poetry SLAM!

Two elementary students from Buhrer Dual Language K-8 School on Cleveland’s near west side will travel to New York City to perform their original poems at the historic Apollo Theater for the sixth annual National Poetry SLAM on Monday, April 16. Fifth grader Tamia B., age 11, and fourth grader Sebastian M., age 10, will represent America SCORES Cleveland alongside 28 youth from 15 cities across the country.

Aspire Auctions Celebrates Ten Years

Aspire Auctions, located on the web and headquartered in Cleveland Ohio, is about to celebrate 10 years in business. Starting on Larchmere Blvd. in Shaker Heights, the company started out with three people and now has a fulltime staff of 11 and two locations. The auction house moved to it's current location in the historic Bloch Building in Downtown Cleveland three years ago and has a second location in Shady Side near Pittsburgh PA.

Taking a break from the usual fare here--I will share a book with REALNEO.  At the recommendation of a young girl, I ordered Good Fortune by Noni Carter through the library.  I was hesistant at first.  I'll admit that I am weary of the recently popular, go-to thematic choices for young adult literature--vampires, gangs, and slavery.

Colvin of the Olivet Institutional Baptist Church, a powerful, dynamic, energetic theologian will speak on the role of faith and education in the struggle for freedom.  Also featured will be a presentation by W.
