Realneo Header Gallery - news isn't always on bottom half of the front page

Submitted by Jeff Buster on Thu, 11/26/2009 - 20:51.

The mast head on the New York Times and the Cleveland Dirty Dealer is the same every day, year in and year out.

Silly.

The most valuable visual real estate on the planet (or in your town) should not just be blank....static or repeditive.

In Realneo the header is never blank, static, or repeditive.

Rather, the Realneo header strives to create another new thought even before you read the news below.

One of the best experiences in NEO - WEST SIDE MARKET

Submitted by Jeff Buster on Mon, 11/23/2009 - 23:23.

Peel back the corruption and downer psych of Cleveland Plus+ (joe roman) - Go with a friend to the West Side Market on West 25 and Lorain in Cleveland, Ohio.

The Market is part museum, part culinary madness, and a big part of being human.

I am convinced that many of the vendors do what they do because they thrive on the interaction, not just the cash.

The West Side Market is a way of knowing if you are alive.  Check it out.

Wind Turbine Towers - could be made 7 meters in diameter in vertical slices

Submitted by Jeff Buster on Thu, 11/19/2009 - 21:50.

This is the base section of a chimney - I caught it going east on I90 in Pennsylvania.  This section weights 46,000lbs and is about 22 feet in diameter.

Wind turbine towers are fabricated at about  13 feet in diameter so they can be shipped on the interstate and clear the bridges which are about 13'6".

But this chimney section demonstrates that there is another way to build wind turbine towers with much larger diameters (albeit shorter sections).

TIRE fix it - a series

Submitted by Jeff Buster on Thu, 11/19/2009 - 20:57.

The image above shows a tire plug installed right at the edge of the radial tread - just on the edge of the sidewall of a radial tire.

This is not a good place to plug a tire.

Paul Alsenas motions for Ed Hauser

Submitted by Jeff Buster on Wed, 11/18/2009 - 22:12.

This isn't today's image, but it is a good image none the less.

Ed's passing was just a year ago, the Port Authority is in flames, so it might be a good time to capitalize on those in the County who have a decent, honest vision.

Ed was certainly one.

And, I believe, Paul Alsenas is another.

He looks good on May 16, 09 with Peter Griesinger and other civically concerned and committed citizens in this rainy image, anyway.

Come to Cleveland for a Draft, a coal fume down draft that is.

Tonight the spotlight is on the nocturnal emission from the Cleveland Thermal steam plant - delivered fresh to East 4th Street just a few blocks away.

Bend your elbow mates, inhale the craft brew, it's all yours!

deer along lake erie image 11.2.09 jeff buster

I was walking in a boat yard on the shore of Lake Erie watching the crew put up sailboats for the winter and I hiked up over a 6 foot high mound to get a better view and found myself face to face with this gentleman.

Two years ago Solon spent a half a million dollars to hire "sharpshooters" to kill 500 deer in Solon.

Whose City is it, anyway?

Blogger PERMANENTLY Interrupted - Tim Russo transitions his web voice

Submitted by Jeff Buster on Thu, 11/12/2009 - 22:18.

Every post I make to Realneo has me considering how much of me, how much of my heart,  is it sensible to put out there. ?

And if  the time taken is to make a difference, should it be spent here on Realneo?

We have a cadre of passionate bloggers in (Real)neo, and like him or not, Tim Russo is one of them.   So was  Adam Harvey - 'til he terminated Tremonter and pulled the server.  I felt a wince.

The Indians in New York State have casinos.   I drove past the casinos and was pulled in by one of those dilapidated road side farmer's stands.   I spent 28 dollars on food raised on the Seneca First Nation.  I am eating the proceeds of my entertainment.   Dan Gilbert wants NEO to eat chips.

Coal is Clean - Why have Chimneys?

Dunkirk New York coal fired power plant on Lake Erie image jeff buster11.2.09

Unit trains of coal dead end at the Dunkirk electric power generating station on the shore of Lake Erie in Dunkirk, New York.

No one minds  the tons of coal disappearing up the chimneys because  the wind picks up the effluent from the train cars and spins it off across Lake Erie to Toronto, Canada.

color through structures

Submitted by Jeff Buster on Fri, 11/06/2009 - 21:21.

There are many, many materials and techniques available for building structures, yet there is very little variety in our commercial and residential construction.

It has always struck me as sad that almost every house on every street across North America has four walls, a shingled peak roof, and a front door.
