REALNEO to be featured on WVIZ Applause, premiering this Thursday, March 29, 2007Submitted by Norm Roulet on Sun, 03/25/2007 - 12:33.
I was quite honored to be contacted, a few weeks ago, by the producer of one of my favorite television programs, Dee Perry's "Applause", asking for information about REALNEO. Seems he was doing research on the spectacular Convivium 33 Gallery, which we have featured extensively on REALNEO, covering Christopher Pekoc here and Clarence Van Duzer here (photos from which were featured in Cleveland Magazine), so REALNEO came up in search results. The producer saw REALNEO as in interesting source of insight on arts and culture in NEO and suggested to his staff doing a segment on Applause about REALNEO. Even though we scheduled the interview, this seemed very abstract until I just saw a promotion on WVIZ for the show, featuring a scrolling view of the REALNEO home page. In addition to sharing insight about REALNEO, this Applause program will have a segment on airbrush art, which sounds fascinating, and a feature on the current Alfred Eisenstaedt photo exhibition at Contessa Gallery. As a photographer, myself, I'm thrilled to be on a program that also features the work of one of the greatest photographers of all time! I'm filming the segment with Dee this Tuesday and it will air this Thursday, March 29, at 7:30 PM, Saturday, March 31, at 6:30 PM, and Sunday, April 1, at 1:00 PM. As always, I'll be capturing the experience for REALNEO - so expect to see some inside photos and insights about this experience post on REALNEO, Tuesday, March 27. We'll also plan to have a screening party Thursday, March 29, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, at the great A.J. Rocco's - 816 Huron Road, Cleveland, Ohio (by E. 9th Street... every Thursday, $3 pints).

Fantastic News
Great news Norm! (of course I'd known about this a while) and it will be fantastic to give our Premier sexy and socially-conscious site the 'Applause' it deserves and has deserved for some time. I considered it an honor to have been granted full partnership in 7gen when it was just getting rolling and to have been a REALNEO member and colleague nearly three years now - to help revamp its success has been rewarding because I feel REALNEO can be the venue that really showcases our REALNEO superstars - Ed Hauser, Derek Arnold, Jon Cline, Zebra Mussel, Jeff Buster, Martha Eakin, Evelyn Kiefer, Susan Miller, and of course - RealNEO founder Norm Roulet.. and those many others who have contributed to such a vibrant site. Kudos to all , we deserve to celebrate - and Rocco's will be a great place to do it! 7Gen initiatives toward Lead Eradication, Wi-Fi proliferation, Digital Divide bridging, and Sustainability all make for wonderful change drivers and I've enjoyed partaking in it all. Our six-sphere holistic frame for sustainable community development (our top-of-page taxonomy) and its implications are getting regional recognition as well - most recently here in Cincinnati, where many here are intrigued with our site and its rich content.
Special shout-outs to the folks at Rocco's - Brendan Walton - champion of the annual Baldrick's event, Nicole (still considered part of the Clan in my book), Charlie- local Folk hero, Zac - ethanol and automotive wunderkind, Brian- real estate dealmaker, Tom - Reggae Mixmaster and artist.. and how could we forget lovely lady barristas Addy, Anita, Kim, Michaela, and Michelle. Hope I left none out - you all Rock!
Let's drive this all forward in East Cleveland and execute on a plan that has been a long time coming.. with our without Foundation money we can make this work with these key pieces proposed prior driving definitive development in a sustainable and specific way.
I consider Rocco's my home away from home and one of many 'office watering holes' away from Home. But I certainly would like to have a follow up screening at another fine location - TBA. In the meantime , Cincinnati proves to be rewarding in more ways than one, updates for the whole RealNEO team coming soon... socially conscious soldiers unite!
Viva la 7gen and RealNEO .. Peace and Love .. Sudhir
Councilman Cimperman will be guest bartender
In making arrangements with A.J. Rocco's owner Brendan Walton for an Applause screening party there, this Thursday, March 29, 2007, from 7-9 PM, I was pleased to learn that they already have planned a very complimentary event - Cleveland City Councilman Joe Cimperman will be the guest bartender that evening, from 6-8 PM. So come early and show your support for A.J. Rocco's, Councilman Cimperman, his downtown Ward 13, REALNEO, WVIZ and Applause! See you then, at 816 Huron Road, by East 9th.

You know, I'm a photographer and I really like this photos. I like colors, light. Sometimes I'm making custom research papers about photography art. I'd like to write about it.
